Team Description

Our Technical Operations team creates the layer from which all Dropbox experiences are built. As our user base and product family continues to grow, Technical Operations is responsible for strengthening our foundation.

Role Description

Dropbox is seeking an experienced individual who is excited about managing the growing install base of hardware equipment that powers Dropbox’s end-user products. This person will work closely with other Technical Operations and Finance team members to help accurately catalogue, track, report, and manage the growing physical infrastructure that spans throughout the nation and internationally.

Responsibilities:

  • Expert in Product Lifecycle Management (tools, systems & processes, architecture) and working knowledge of adjacent areas and tools

  • Participate and support in BOM automation projects, develop ad-hoc process flow mapping to highlight areas of opportunity for future-state processes

  • Identify and lead continuous process improvements in the PLM area

  • Reach out, partner, and work across TechOps teams to improve the upstream process and support, perform active stakeholder engagement, understand needs, discuss opportunities for improvement and propose solutions to identified or forecasted issues/roadblocks impacting cross-functional downstream processes

  • Be responsible for PLM system day-to-day activities such as BOM releases and changes to support new production introduction (NPI) as well as sustaining MP TLA setup and changes for L10 and L11 assets (globally) based on input from Integrators, Manufacturing Engineers, and suppliers

  • Manage ad-hoc (legacy) BOM cleanup, BOM update initiatives, and Part Number cleanup

  • Be the leader for PLM standardization and continuous process improvement to support scalability

  • Track all datacenter assets purchased for our various domestic and international facilities

  • Handle data entry and ensure data integrity of our datacenter asset database

  • Liaise with Dropbox's Finance team to ensure precise and timely delivery reports and confirmations of receipt

  • Define processes and workflows to manage the various interactions relative to PLM and datacenter assets.

  • Define feature requirements to continually improve custom-developed inventory management tools
  • Requirements:

  • Demonstrated success in past roles with 7+ years work experience

  • Must have a deep knowledge of PLM capabilities and software configuration and implementation

  • Expert with handling complex assemblies and BOM structuring

  • Must have experience with asset management and PLM in a Datacenter environment

  • Knowledge of product development process

  • Ability to build effective and collaborative relationships with other team members and external business vendors

  • Self-starter who can take initiative in addressing and executing on process, tool, and workflow improvement

  • Detail-oriented with great organizational skills, flexible and patient, able to manage overlapping projects/tasks/workflow to meet deadlines, and ability to deal with shifting priorities

  • Customer service-oriented and able to resolve issues successfully

  • Must possess technical writing ability for system and process documentation

  • Functional knowledge of supply planning, forecasting, SKU management and supply chain

  • Experience leading projects, and/or business teams or providing key technical expertise

  • Experience with Excel and bulk data capture and bulk data entry for online applications
