Responsibilities:

  • Manage multiple software projects, working closely with engineers and other stakeholders to define clear goals and realistic schedules.

  • Lead a team of talented developers to design, develop, and maintain front-end and back-end services.

  • Ensure high standards, timely releases, and consistent quality in roadmap planning, architecture discussions, code reviews, and setting standards.

  • Lead technology decisions particularly related to scaling, caching, and other systems for which the rest of the site depends.

  • Mentor engineers and provide growth opportunities. Work closely with other departments including Product and Operations. Follow industry trends and recommend new technologies when appropriate

  • Evangelize, share, manage and execute speed strategy across the organization

  • A technologist who is up to date on industry trends, ideas and is passionate about bringing these within.


  • Desired Skills and Experience:

  • 3+ years of experience in people, project, process management, managing, coaching and empowering engineers.

  • 6+ years of development experience with large scale development systems with a strong background on performance and speed.

  • Amazing people management skills with the ability to foster collaboration and openness

  • Experience managing a complex mix of projects and working closely with other parts of the business to communicate and deliver against various goals

  • Proven track record of delivering high quality software on schedule

  • Outstanding collaboration skills with a proven ability to work cross functionally in order to establish and meet shared organizational goals

  • Strong preference towards a background in PHP/Python development in a high volume environment

  • Exceptionally strong communications skills to influence and align stakeholders

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or equivalent experience
