Weebly is building a new DevOps team that will be more development focused versus traditional system administration and systems engineering. The ideal candidate will have a strong software development background with a solid understanding of underlying systems, services and data store technologies.


Qualifications include:


  • Proficiency in at least one programming language (PHP, C/C++, Java)

  • Proficiency in at least one scripting language (Bash, Perl, Python, Ruby)

  • Experience with HTTP/RPC/REST API development

  • Experience with Relational databases, such as MySQL or Postgres

  • Experience with caching mechanisms and unstructured data stores (Redis, Memcache, Hadoop, or similar technologies)

  • Experience with Message Queues such as (RabbitMQ, ActiveMQ, Kafka or similar technologies)

  • Demonstrated ability to learn new programming languages and technologies

  • Strong knowledge of Unix/Linux systems

  • Experience with configuration management is a plus (Puppet, Chef, Salt, Ansible)

  • Familiarity with integrated build systems and testing frameworks


  • Your responsibilities will include:


  • Work closely with Engineering and Operation teams to help bridge the gaps between application and architecture designs and solutions.

  • Work closely with our Network/Systems/Software Engineering teams to ensure fast, smooth roll-out of new designs, features and products.

  • Instrumentation for monitoring the health and availability of services including fault detection, alerting, triage and recovery (automated and manual).

  • Improving our application and system monitoring tools (OpenNMS, Grafana, Logstash/Kibana) to expedite troubleshooting problems.

  • Performance management, including benchmarking and monitoring of vital metrics, capacity planning, and resolution of performance problems affecting service levels.

  • Troubleshoot application and system issues incoordination with Engineering and Operations teams

  • Create and review documentation and process around recurring issues, tools, new standard operating procedures, knowledge transfer material, etc.
