Head of field engineering

Stripe’s success depends in large part on our ability to help our users and partners succeed. Often that success has a large technical component, and Stripe is building a team of field-facing technologists to work directly with developers, customers and partners. As leader of this group you’ll be expected to define its scope and charter, set goals and priorities, build organizational infrastructure and process, design an effective engagement model, and continually optimize.

You will lead Stripe’s nascent Field Engineering group, which comprises:

  • Partner Engineering; technical expertise applied to integrations with Stripe’s strategic partners.

  • Sales Engineering; technical expertise dedicated to Stripe’s most valuable customers, and prospective customers.

  • Support Engineering; technical expertise underpinning the foundation of Stripe: the operational ability to onboard developers spanning a broad range of competencies, technologies, and geographies.
  • As the global head of this team you will:

  • Support and inspire the team to do their best work.

  • Attract, recruit and retain the very best talent.

  • Set the team’s charter, direction, and priorities—with input from business stakeholders.

  • Develop, refine, and optimize the team’s internal and external engagement model.

  • Remove friction and roadblocks from the team’s work.

  • Plan to a 24-month horizon.

  • Has at least five years of management experience.
